Work Chic to Beat the Heat

Summertime's in full swing ladies and as much as it's all about cookouts, weekends at the beach and sipping drinks poolside, most of us still have to squeeze a work day or two in between our recreation. And as tempting as it is to wear as little as possible on those dog days when the temperature hits sky high, we still have to find a way to dress appropriately for the workplace.

I've said it before and I'll say again a thousand times more, I am definitely a dress kind of girl. So naturally my go-to is a sleeveless shift dress or a pencil skirt to beat the heat. Dresses and skirts are a quick and easy way to get dressed in the morning and they're a great alternative to shorts since most work environments won't allow them. I just stay away from maxi dresses which are a bit too casual and beachy and anything strapless which is too much exposure.

To fight off the chill when they crank the AC or for just a bit more coverage in the office, grab your favorite lightweight cardi to cover your arms and you're good to go! Here are some of my favorite dress/skirt options. Pants looks to follow!
