From Blush & Bronzer to Diapers & Daycare....

Hey beauties....

Where to start...Where to start...I remember when I first got this blog started 7 years ago (Seriously... has it really been that long???!!!) my entire life was different. I was living the single and carefree life in New York City and the majority of my life centered around plus-size fashion (Meaning shopping of course), finding new fun things to do and hanging out with my friends. I started this blog because I had just lost a bunch of weight, was shopping to replace my entire wardrobe and was having so much fun doing it that I wanted to share my journey with other people and since I've always loved to write I figured this was a great way to do that.
Oh how the times have changed...

Insert shameless Snapchat plug...Go follow me at JuJu Monee!!!

Fast forward to today and now I'm mom to the most incredible two year old toddler, living in Florida and instead of comparing the latest Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector to the newest MAC MSF and shopping for new clothes; I'm comparing Pampers to Huggies and shopping for daycare centers.
My entire world is different!

A part of me has missed my old life and getting back into blogging is going to be my attempt to get a part of it back. So I'm going to get back to posting about fashion and beauty but I can't ignore the biggest part of my life so I may throw in a #MomLife post here and there too. Don't hate me for it! I've picked up a few hobbies here and there so you might also find some recipes and home d├ęcor

Blogmas #8 | Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme

Need a stocking stuffer idea for the beauty lover in your life? How about a liquid lipstick or two? Liquid Lipstick is definitely a hot beauty trend and now it's easier than ever to find a great one.

These little tubes of gorgeousness are called the Amore Soft Matte Lip Cremes by Milani Cosmetics and trust me; they are to die for! They were originally released as Limited Edition but as more and more of us picked them up and word of their absolute awesomeness spread like wildfire, they became nearly impossible to find. I personally had to go to three different stores to find these! But apparently there was an outpouring of messages to Milani (mine included) to bring them back and Milani listened. Now they're permanent!

I seriously can't find enough good things to say about these. They're comfortable, long wearing and once they dry down they DO NOT MOVE! Plus, did I mention that they smell like cake???!!!  There are nine shades in total; five of which are pictured above with their names/color descriptions below. Trust me; all it's going to take is one for you to want them all.

04 Lust - Cool Rose

05 Embrace - Deep Reddish Plum

06 Desire - Bright Red

07 Romance - Deep Red (As in literally the color of rose petals. It's my hands down fave!)

08 Flirt - Deep Vampy Wine

They're only available on the Milani website right now but will be back in stores permanently soon.

Until Next Time ~XOXO JuJu

Blogmas #7 | My Christmas List

Dear Santa, I have been a very good girl this year. I brake for animals, say please and thank you and I've managed to make it through 49 weeks of Mondays without killing anyone. You should be proud! I know I am. This year for Christmas, I don't want much. Just these few things will keep me nice for the new year and beyond...

1. YSL Black Opium Perfume - $90.00 for 1.6 oz

I am positively OBSESSED with this perfume and have been since the very first time I smelled it! The notes are coffee, vanilla & white flowers and the result is sexy and spicy and perfect for the Fall/Winter months!

2. Urban Decay Limited Edition Vice 4 Palette - $60.00

Call me a sucker for an Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette. I have three out of four of the infamous Naked palettes, plus the Vice 2 & Vice 3 palettes. How could I not get the Vice 4 to add to my collection; especially since the sparkly orange color toward the bottom called "Flame" is everything that is good about life!!!! UD Eyeshadows never disappoint; they're buttery, pigmented and blend like a dream! They are pricey, but I have yet to get one where I regretted the investment.

3. Quay Australia Livnow Sunnies - $50.00

So, my obsession with Quay (pronounced like Key) Sunnies is a relatively new one. I just kept seeing them over and over again on Instagram and I liked them but didn't trust it because it came from the "beauty gurus" who always have a coupon code for everything and I figured they were selling those too. Bottom line is, I fought it as long as I can but I just have to finally bite the bullet and admit that I'm in love. I liked these particular frames because the shape is different from any other pair that I own, plus I love the blue color!

4. Sam & Libby Marley Buckle Ankle Boots - $44.99

Never mind orange; in my little world, blue is the new black! I am loving midnight blue as a substitute for my normal, neutral black or brown. It's fresh, it's versatile and I've already pictured 10 different ways that I could style these cute little shoe boots which means I've got to have them!

5. House of Lashes "Bohemian Princess" - $7.00

The last thing that I want Santa, is an easy one. I just want a set (or two) of fun & flirty lashes to give me that extra oomph to get through the holiday party season! These add just enough length and volume to make your gaze extra special without being heavy like some strip lashes can be. And at just $7.00 a pair, you can't go wrong!(/p>

See Santa, I don't ask for much. Just 5 little things...plus a gift card to Starbucks...Thanks in advance!

Until Next Time XOXO ~JuJu

Blogmas # 3-6 | Winterlicious Tag

So that didn't take long did it? I commit to doing a daily blog post and then skip out on Days 3-6! I'm so sorry guys. Life happens sometimes. It was just a crazy few days for me and I just couldn't fit it in; as much as I wanted to. But I'm jumping right back in where I left off with a fun tag post to get back in the holiday spirit! This is called the Winterlicious Tag and it's just a few of my favorite things for the holiday season.

1. Favorite Holiday Nail Polish

So this one is a toss up. Both of my choices are from Zoya's pixie dust line. For me the holidays equal sparkle and these polishes are both matte glitter formulas that are equally gorgeous. Your nails literally sparkle like ornaments! You just have to make the difficult choice between Silver(Tomoko) and Gold (Solange)!

2. Favorite Holiday Lip Product

My absolute favorite lip for the winter is the knockout combo of MAC's Ruby Woo with MAC's Pro Longwear Lip Liner in Cherry. Together they create that classic, iconic red lip that's uber sexy and perfect with any glam holiday look! A very close second and more affordable option is this Milani Liquid Lipstick in the color Romance which is about half the price of a MAC lipstick, comfortable on the lips and unlike Ruby Woo; won't budge once it dries down which makes it perfect for a holiday evening out where the food and drinks are flowing!

3. Most Worn Winter Clothing Piece

The one good thing about moving to Florida is that I can wear my favorite Leather jacket all the way through to the spring. At home it only worked for the Fall. Thank goodness for warm weather!

4. Most Worn Winter Accessory

I'm a sucker for a good infinity scarf. A super quick and easy way to add punch to any outfit!

5. Favorite Winter Scent/Candle

Definitely Marshmallow Fireside by Bath & Body Works or anything Apple Pie scented; not apples & cinnamon, apple pie. There's a definite difference for some reason.

6. Favorite Winter Beverage

In the mornings and afternoons, definitely Starbucks' Caramel Brulee. I just have a thing about dessert flavored espresso! In the evenings, Evan Williams Original Southern Eggnog is my absolute favorite. To me, nothing says Christmas like a glass of eggnog. Especially one with a kick!

7. All Time Favorite Christmas Movie

I seriously love them all from Charlie Brown to Rudolph and every cheesy Hallmark Holiday movie in between but the one that I can never pass up even though I've seen it a gazillion times is Home Alone. The story of Kevin McAllister vs. The Wet Bandits gets me every time!

8. Favorite Christmas/Holiday Song

Definitely "8 Days of Christmas" by Destiny's Child. It's always the first song I listen to to kick off my holiday season and it's the one that puts me the most into the Christmas spirit!

9. Favorite Holiday Food/Treat

My mom has been buying baklava every Christmas for as long as I can remember so it's definitely something that I look forward to that reminds me of Christmas. Plus it's super yummy!

10. Favorite Christmas decoration this year

My sparkly nutcracker guy is new to my decorations this year and he's definitely my favorite. He's gaudy, he's glittery and he's all mine!

11. Top of your Christmas list

Ooh, such a hard question! I want the world, can I just say everything? I guess if you're going to make me choose, I would say that what I would really want is either a bottle of YSL Black Opium Perfume or the Urban Decay Limited Edition Vice 4 palette. Santa if you're listening...

12. Plans for the holidays

It's my Maddie's very first Christmas so of course we're getting Fisher Price wasted! Plus we're going to spend the holiday together as a family with my mom and my brother so I'm super duper excited for this year!

So what are some of your favorite things for the holiday season? I would love to see you guys' answers to these questions so I tag each one of you to complete you answers and leave your webpage in the comments below or tweet me to let me know where to find yours!

Until next time, XOXO ~ JuJu

Blogmas #2 | Ol' Blue Eyes

Hurray! Holiday party season is here and in full effect!!! We already established that I love this time of year for several reasons, but one that we didn't talk about is the fact that holiday parties are the perfect excuse to get fancy and try out new glamorous makeup looks that might feel like a little too much during the rest of the year.

Now I have to say, for a very long time you couldn't pay me to go near blue eye shadow. It conjured up images full of teased and permed 80's hair and bad Barbie makeup but recently I discovered that the problem wasn't necessarily the color; you just have to find the right shade for your complexion and undertones. The shades that I used were a combo of a midnight blue and a teal and I absolutely LOVE the way it came out! Lord knows if I had picked a bright pastel blue, you would've never seen my face on here. I'll at least tell you that...

So for your next holiday event, sure you could go for a tried and true black and grey smoky eye or a basic eye with a bright lip, but why not live on the edge and try something different for a change? If the idea of the blue makes you nervous why not ease your way in with a midnight blue liner instead of your normal black or brown, or maybe just a pop of color on your lower lash line. Or if you're really ready for a walk on the wild side, dive right in and go for full on color! Just remember to take it easy on the rest of your look so that your beautiful eyes can be the focus.

The look that I'm wearing was created using the top two blue shades in this Limited Edition eye shadow palette but you can use any shadow as long as the shade is right. When done wrong, blue eye shadow can be a disaster but done properly, there's no better cure for the winter blues. (Cheesy pun intended!)

Until Next Time ~ XOXO JuJu
