Fashion Night 2012

So we know that yours truly is a fluffy fashionista. I'm a plus size girl who lives and breathes plus size fashion. But as a lover of fashion in general, you have to study not only your particular niche, but the world at large. And with that being said, I was given the opportunity to attend a local one-night charity fashion event that I'm super excited to tell you about!
The event was co-hosted by GoodTimezNow(with a "Z"!) and LSK Modeling & Events Company to benefit a local chapter of Chadwick Residence, an organization which provides transitional housing for women at risk (for more information, go to http://www.chadwickresidence.org).
The evening was a combination of hip-hop, r&b and urban fashion setting the night off with a dance trio by the name of "No Outlet" and ending with a performance by local R&B Singer Erica Lovette. Each line had an individual artist who performed an original song as their models strutted down the runway. One of the standouts for me was the consignment shop "Coming Around Again Boutique" which displayed ladylike elegance with lots of dresses, gloves, tea hats and fascinators a la the Royal Wedding. My favorite look was the show opener which was this super girly sheer white shirt and floral skirt combo.
For the sexy trendy girls, there was "Some Girls Boutique" which featured everything from peplum details to animal prints, color blocking and leather panels.
There were two original men's lines featured. One was called Unico Re Designs which showed urban casual clothing such as men's sweatshirts, t-shirts, polos and these cardigan and button down looks(which happened to be my favorite menswear looks of the evening). I had the opportunity to speak to the designer personally and he told me that he's also working on a women's line to be released early next year!
The second menswear line called Sky's Da Limit Clothing featured more outerwear like urban and varsity jackets. I've realized in looking at these, that I love a preppy look on a guy more than I thought. The pullover sweater is definitely my favorite!
I have, however saved the best, (in this humble little blogger's opinion)for last. My favorite of the night BY FAR was a young twenty one year old designer named Korianna who showed an original line with a take that was young, fresh and original. The look was definitely more Spring with lots of pastel colors and a mix of materials which included clear plastic and mesh netting but her take is an original one that I'm sure will be around for years to come. I'm looking forward to seeing much, much more from her!

All in all, it was a great time full of great music, drinks and fashion. Already looking forward to 2013! Here's some of my own pics from the evening. Check out my girl Tati in her fabulous outfit! She is killing the black, white & red!
